Dr. Saswata completed his MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Hyderabad, India. In his doctoral thesis, he demonstrated the link between inequality and growth by estimating the contribution of various socio-economic classes, especially urban elites, and the state/​government.

His current research investigates the influence of growth processes on distributional dynamics in India. His research integrates both quantitative and qualitative methods.

His session was on the LaTeX a system used for typesetting documents. A software that is a go-to tool in his tech arsenal.
